Goodbye Germany....


With the agreement to be signed, the Islamic religion will gain an official status in state of Bremen.


The agreed text of the deal will be presented to the federal state assembly within a week or two and in case it is approved Muslims will gain a religious community status for the first time in the history of Germany.


Bremen Islamic Council Head Mustafa Yavuz said in a statement he made that their efforts for an officially recognized status for the religion of Islam are about to yield results.


Since Islam is not an officially recognized religion in Germany, the exact number of Muslims living in the country is not known said Mr. Yavuz, and added when Muslims gain an official status as a religious community, the situation will change.


Meanwhile, prominent members of the Muslim communities in Germany defend that they should be recognized as religious communities by the state and strongly react against being treated in the same legal status with bird watcher’s club or some other hobby groups performing in the society
