The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in New Jersey is informing the Muslim community about a security and preparedness grant from the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (OHSP) applicable to Mosques and Islamic Centers. The grant is called the Non-UASI Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) and allows for over one million dollars in grant funding to be distributed in 14 counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.

The purpose of the grant is to be used as target hardening activities, such as the purchase and installation of physical security equipment. The grant is being offered to registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations determined to be at high risk of terrorist attacks within the 14 counties.
