It's coming, I can feel it’s hot breath on the back of my neck. Its vile STENCH permeates everything. It's there when we go to bed and it's there waiting for us when we wake up. It follows us wherever we go, always just three paces back, like a shadow, a distortion, a bending of the light, it is relentless.


It is as certain and as cold and unforgiving as DEATH. Its icy talons are flexed, extended, awaiting the perfect moment to strike. It has no name, no place or time of origin, it simply IS.


It is the culmination of the darkest elements throughout human existence, the coming together of the perfect storm. It has been festering, purifying, in the belly of the beast for as long as mankind has walked the earth.


It CANNOT be abated, weakened or perhaps even KILLED. It has a power and an energy that cannot
be denied. It is the untamed essence of all things evil.


It can (and often does) APPEAR innocent. It morphs, shape shifts to suit it propose. One minute it feeds us
and the next it is the source of our starvation. It has an uncanny ability to make us FORGET it even there and somehow despite ample evidence of its existence we muse, reflect, and wonder when we SHOULD BE running!.


It has been with us so long that most of the time we simply ignore it as if doing so will make if less of a reality. We live, eat, work, love, laugh and perhaps even sleep in its unseen presence.


Many of us have come to think of it as unavoidable, a necessary evil. Some of us cope by squeezing our eyes tightly, hoping that if we don't acknowledge it will go away. Then there is you and me, we know the score, don't we?


We hear it inhaling and exhaling, it's breath coming in heavier and heavier efforts, as If it were approaching
The finish line in some sinister marathon, a macabre endgame scenario. We know from the rapidly increasing
intensity of its once unnoticeable heartbeat, that it has been gaining ground on us.


How long before it catches up to us, no one can exactly say but catch up it surely WILL.


Yes, it's eternal, it's deadly and it's HERE AND NOW
